The Languages of Abode

NOTE: This essay is the result of discussions on the Elfquest Lexicon online group, which was founded to “create” the language of the Elfquest elves – possibly to be used in future stories from Warp Graphics.

Based on readings of the graphic stories and novelizations, I have deduced the existence of at least four major Abodean languages which are living and active in at least one of the Elfquest series. In addition, the existence of a fifth (human) language is possible, based on the evidence from The Wild Hunt: Mender’s Tale (from Second Elfquest 32 and 33). Here are the languages, and their various dialects (if known).
