Arthis had a fabulous idea making a table of contents for the monthly themes... so I thought, having an idle lunch hour in my hands on account of not being able to find my pre-paid lunch tickets... why not expand the idea a bit? I mean, I remember browsing though the older pages of this subforum looking for a wordgazer story everone keeps telling me is really good, or Kathleen's first story, or things by other people I've enjoyed reading, and that's a lot of people.
There's at least two ways a table of contents could be made. One is we could simply all collect links into our own story topics and list them here, post by post. And maybe make lists for those who are no longer here to make their own but have posted fanfiction sometime...
Another, more organized way, would be for some preserver to collect the links from these posts into one really long post...
The trouble, of course, is that if that long post gets long enough, it will be almost as difficult to use as the forum itself. Almost. At least the stories would then be ordered by author rather than date, and sorted out from among the art topics and miscellaneous other things...
A topic like that could come in useful, however it's done, and the first stage in any case is everyone listing their own stories as a bunch of links.
(Here's how the listing is done, in case someone has no experience in posting links: browse all pages of the fanfiction subforum. every time you come across a fanfic you have written, open the topic, copy the url address of that page, and add it to your post. then put the url code around it if you want the link to say what it contains (click on the quote button to see how I did mine. if that looks complicated, just paste the links and add titles before each one so we know what's what). You might like to have one window open for the post you're making and another for browsing the forum. When you have all your fics listed, post the list.)
I think this kind of listings would be useful for people who like some writer and want to read older fics by that writer... and maybe stop asking for new ones for the little while it takes to read those old ones... 
And I'm ignoring art topics on purpose. Most artists just have one gallery and if the artist is active the gallery topic stays on the first page. if someone wants to make a gallery table of contents, I'm not stopping them, of course.

Very good idea Leanan. 
That's quite a lot of work to do, so I am for the idea that each writer creates his/her own list.
Then, if you agree, a preserver can edit the post, copy the list of links, and edit your first post to paste the list.
And I'm going to make this topic sticky right now, for it will be very usefull.

I agree, Arthis! I'm glad you like the idea and made it a sticky.
When I have time I'll make a list of topics with fics by more than one author (other than the monthly themes, which are already listed).

Well, rather than try to do this all at once (a task which seems overwhelming!) I'm going to start listing mine here a few at a time. I'll let you know when I'm done. 
Reappearance Day - The story of what happened on that fateful day when the Palace reappeared after 10,000 years.
Musings: The Elves Visit Wordgazer - My own wrestling with certain issues regarding the physical attractiveness of these characters. With the characters' input!
Aftermath - Ever wonder what happened back at the Holt when Madcoil attacked? The answer to this and other questions are conjectured here. (Note: this story also contains a sub-plot about how Redlance and Nightfall became lifemates.)
Wolfsong, Starsong: A Skywise Story - This story explores the mental process that led Skywise to give up his wolf blood.
UPDATE: Manga found all these for me! Thanks, Manga, so very much!
Mirror Images - This explores the period from when Rayek left the Sun Village, through the point when Cutter arrived in the Frozen Mountains. It switches back and forth between Rayek's and Cutter's points of view in an attempt to highlight the way these two characters seem like reverse mirror images of one another.
Marking Time - Cutter's intense suffering during the 500-year absence of his family, before he went into wrapstuff, is explored-- with Little Patch as a focal point.
Chief's Cub: Illustrated Children's Story - Ember is five years old in this story, which takes place in the Sun Village just before the beginning of the First Quest.
Aroree - This story explores Aroree's transition into living with the Wolfriders during the Kings of the Broken Wheel period.
Shadows of the Past: Lunakat and Wordgazer's First Joint Fanfic - Bearclaw and Skywise's relationship in Skywise's youth is explored-- with a look into how Bearclaw finally comes to terms with the death of Shale and Eyes High.
Two Choices - My first, and possibly only, "what-if," answering the question of what might have happened if Kahvi, at the critical moment, had chosen to reveal Venka's existence to Rayek. The ripples of this choice spread outward to completely alter the elves' history on the World of Two Moons.
What's In A Name? - A conjecture about how young Tam might have been given his tribename, Cutter.
Settling In - A loolk at how the elves might have adjusted to life in Forbidden Grove just after the Palace War-- and a conjecture about what might have happened to Selah and Malak.
Trials of Passage - This is a fleshing-out of the Hidden Years story, "Right of Passage," and explores the aftermath of Ember's jump aboard the Palace on Choplicker.
Wings: Tyldak's Story - Tyldak's story from the moment he first asks for wings, till his choice of Kahvi as lovemate.
Dart's Decision: Illustrated! - Details what might have happened behind the scenes that led to young Dart's decision to stay in Sorrow's End.
Zhantee: A Love Story - This is basically a retelling of the Elfquest plot through the eyes of a character who stays in the background and sees things the reader may not have seen.

There's also this piece Kathleen and I are working on together:
Weather the Weather, By Kathleen and Wordgazer - A conjecture on what might have happened to Venka, Two-Edge and Aroree at the end of Shards, when they left with the Go-Back tribe to look for Kahvi.
And another one we sort of did together: It Will Be Alright - A brief cameo on why Strongbow and Aroree might have felt a special affinity for one another in Kings of the Broken Wheel times. The story is told from one point of view, then retold from another.
And here's one that's posted on For Elf Eyes Only-- a wonderful website well worth visiting!
Thorns - This story explores Suntop and Ember's reactions to being carried forward in time in the Palace.
Another Update: These are two Rayek stories Manga has up on her Rayek Admiration Society for Humans (R.A.S.H.) Website:
The first offers a look at the Wolfriders through Rayek's eyes, during the year he lived with them before the War for the Shards:
Rayek's Interlude This story also explores Rayek's past and what led to some of his most terrible mistakes. It ends with an encounter with a Winnowill-created monster!
The other is a Rogue's Curse story, in which it is shown how Rayek and the humans he encounters might be able to help one another.:

Angry Young Glider - Part of the "Character/Tribe Switching" thread, this story explores how things might have been very different if Rayek had been born a Glider, fairly early in Blue Mountain's history. (I guess this qualifes as my second "What-If" story )

Great Idea! Part of the reason I never really followed a lot of the fic was that it was too hard to find all the sections of a particular story I liked. If you don't check in to the site everyday (every hour in some cases) something interesting has usually scrolled off the first page and I'm notoriously lazy about checking back pages.  Now everything's in one place, so to speak, and I can finally get to reading!

Okay here is mine.
- Written In Blood
It's about Skywise leaving the tribe because he feels the need to find his own path. Life hasn't been easy since the loss of his wolfblood and he'll find out it can get even harder! *evil grin* Skywise/Cutter relationship mostly.
- The Kin War
The Kin War is my attempt of writing a true elfquest story. It'll be as WARP like as I can get it. Though I have given up on the language... Skywise has gotten himself in a lot of trouble but the other elves aren't doing to great too... Chapter 5 part 2 is up now...
- Home is Where You Are
A crossover between Elfquest and X-men.
Skywise has ended up in the X-men universe with no hope of turning back. [/url]
