The return of the SEAL (sad eyes Aroree lovers)

In the 90ies on the equest-l mailing list I and Michael Lehmeier sort of started SEAL (Sad eyes Aroree lovers). Whitney Prince and Zach Hilgefort also joined.

This is a try to revive the society! For all of you that have Aroree as your favourite elf!

We also got a beatiful piece of art from a German cartoonist: Andreas Nikisch. I only have cropped versions now that the original web page has disappeared (if someone have the real thing, PM me!):

I've always liked Aroree too, but could we get a more detailed description of what joining the society would mean? Do we contribute with art, do we get a newsletter, do we just get to bask in the glow of having good taste, what? Very Happy

This will be a very simple and beautiful society, just state that you will join in this thread, and then you are in. No web page to maintain, we just use this thread for Aroree. Tell me why you do like her, where in real life you were when you first saw Aroree etc. Where do you think she is now? Do you have fan art of her, post it here. If you have fanfiction about her, post a link to the story.

This is supposed to be a friendly society. If you want to to show off that you are a member of SEAL, state it in you signature.

Strangely enough, the first time I saw Aroree I was reading the 'Complete EQ Gatherum' (is that the title?) in the local library - I had only read Book One at that time, but I've never minded spoilers very much... she was so beautiful, even when I knew nothing of her association with Skywise (for whom I had lusted for ever since I first saw him - he was much more handsome than the high one with the silver star headpiece on that first, world-changing page...) for a while her name was one of my online nicks, but nobody knew its meaning anywhere I hung around those days... (I change names like clothes)

Cool! So the Aroree fan site is coming back? I'm glad, I liked her a lot (Siege at Blue Mountain was my first Elfquest comic, so she's one of the first characters I met)
I'll most certainly draw her (I'm testing my hand with several different canon elves). Maybe even make some more dollz (well, I don't know if I may be able to do all elves like Penance and dartfan did, but I'll certainly try! I already have Cutter, Leetah, Newstar and some WaveDancers done...)
