Whoa. HolyMoly!
Those are beautiful Windrider! I especially like the Brothers Still. It's so perfect; every line is evocative and the picture is both pain and comfort. Amazing!

Yeah, that Naptime sketch is one of my favorites, too. I did the original thumbnail in the margins of an agenda sheet during a VERY boring faculty meeting. Guess I was inspired! Laughing

Ooo! It is good to see that someone is coloring my B&Ws! Although I didn't expect anyone to pick that one. I don't know much about computer coloring, isn't it hard to color a tonal piece like that?

Here is the next batch of art, post-Full Circle this time. I may get around to putting up my WaRP submission packet eventually (the submission packet that never really got submitted Wink ), which would chronologically fall just before Full Circle, but I don't have all those scanned yet.

Fan Calendar Art:

"Winged Victory" - Aroree as the Nike of Samothrace (sketch)

"Greeting the Dawn" (Leetah teaches Nightfall and Moonshade a Sun Village dance)
based on the Three Graces detail of "La Primavera" by Sandro Bottecelli

I actually find tonal works a lot easier to color than line art. My sense of lighting bites; in something that's already had the shading done on it, I tend just wind up playing with hue and saturation more than shadows and light.

I Love the Aroree one.

Coloring toned pictures isn't too hard, really, though getting them to look like they weren't just a colored grayscale (ala old movies) is something tha takes a while to learn. Suzene had it right that it's all about knowing your saturations and hues well.

The part I dislike about it is color picking, because whatever you pick will be automatically less saturated than what you want to use for the color layer. So I'm always having to disable the layer with the drawing, color pick from the pure colors layer, and then re-enable the drawing layer. Gets to be a bit tedious after a while.
