River Twine Holt is something a little different: a traditional writing & art club featuring an Original Quest style tribe of wolfriders. In our group, rather than play out our elves' lives by forum roleplay, stories and fan art tell the tale. The pace is slow, and the creative involvement intense - if you prefer to write and draw rather than roleplay, have no time to keep up with an RP group, or are just looking for a different fandom experience, RTH is the place for you!
In addition to our creative community and large archive of fan fiction and fan art, River Twine Holt features a rich history and tribal background, active messageboards, monthly contests, trades and events, and a commenting system for both writing and art. The club is run by a five-person council, ensuring that even in the event of a leading member leaving, the group won't close down. We are always eager to welcome new members into the River Twine experience! Currently we have two types of membership available:
Player Members adopt a character and receive creative control of him/her, as well as full participation privileges, and need to turn in one sketch or 500-word story per three months;
Reader Members don't own a character and need only to give one comment per quarter to retain their membership, but get partial privileges such as access to restricted parts of our messageboards as well as a first crack at any newly adoptable characters. If you're interested in the club, but no character catches your eye, or you aren't sure if you'll have the time, joining as a Reader Member is an ideal option.
Our current adoptables are (names link to CISes):
Pathmark (male, tracker, 147): a sweet, quiet and gentle soul who is at heart very much of a Pollyanna. He is the type of person who will find a pearl in the worst of midden-pits. A good sport – can be very competitive once stakes are laid, but always takes losing with as wide a smile as he greets a win. Enjoys providing for his tribemates, and always delights in finding something new and interesting to take home for someone else, or which can be crafted into a special gift. He is curious about the world around him and loves to roam on short hunting trips, but at heart is a homebody – the tribe's hometrees and his family and friends around him are his greatest treasures. He is very shy to admit to deep feelings, and can be cautious to an extreme in matters of the heart. Pathmark has a sister, Willow, and a grandmother, Kestrel, actively played. His wolf-friend is Bonetrail, a high-ranking male. This character has been played and well-developed before, and is currently involved in a couple of interesting plots - not only did his sister, Willow, recently develop healing power, but he himself had finally dared confess his love to his tribemate Evervale.
Foxtail (female, huntress, 106): Daughter of chief Windburn and his lifemate Whispersilk, Foxtail is a spitfire through and through, stubborn, hard-headed, temperamental, and spirited. She is always trying to prove herself and is often rash, impulsive, and reckless. Outspoken and opinionated, Foxtail never hesitates to speak her mind, and often disregards the feelings of others when she does so. She often leaps before she looks into any situation, and has had to be rescued from misadventures before. Foxtail also loves to be the center of attention whenever possible, and often goes out of her way to ensure that she is. While she loves her parents, she has a strained relationship with them both: she often feels that she can never please her father, and that she can never earn her mother's full attention. Both of Foxtail's parents are Council-run NPCs (which doesn't mean they don't get written!); her sometimes-lovemates Notch and Rainpace are both actively played. Her wolf-friend is Briarfoot, a mid-ranking female. This character is smack full in the middle of countless plot opportunities: from her parents' recent second Recognition, to her involvement in our humans' storylines, to the drifting apart of her group of close friends. We're quite desperate for a dedicated player for her.

Hey everybody!
We have some news over at River Twine - Nightstorm has just been adopted! Alas, that's one less lovely lady to pick up. However! Goldspice, our equally lovely jewel-smith, is now up for adoption, so consider yourself compensated. Have a look a her on this post, or
on our website! _________________

More news! Both Goldspice and Chicory have just found good homes - only four more adoptables to pick from! Get 'em now before they're gobbled up!
(For some reason, we're having a devil of a time adopting out boys... which is a shame, because all these boys are rich mines of character possibilities. Please consider them carefully - c'mon, sep out of your comfort zone, give it a shot!
If you want to join the holt but are set on adopting a female character, becoming a Reader Member would allow you first crack at any elf that becomes adoptable - and you'll get a bunch of access perks on top, and only need to put in one comment every three months. It's a bargain!) _________________

I'd love to join up, but about my only talent is making dollz. Plus, I can't play males at all... ah well. _________________

News out! A new character, Windsong, is now available for adoption. If you've just been waiting for a female character to become available, this is your chance!
(Please, guys, she's my character's mother. I really need her around!) _________________

Windsong is now off the adoption market! And we're back to a guys-only adoptable set, sorry. Please give them some thought! _________________

News in RTH! Notch has been adopted . Only two more left, ladies and gents. They may not be exactly what you're after, but soon they may not be at all!
If you're reluctant to adopt rather than create a character, please consider at least Thornbow anyway - he's very underdeveloped, and a dedicated owner could virtually make him their own. _________________

Further news! Thornbow has been adopted, leaving only one male character, Pathmark, in need of an owner - however! For all you fans of female characters, a new one is up for adoption: Foxtail, daughter of our chiefly couple, who really really needs a player. Give her a look! _________________
