SKETCHES - part two
Here are more examples of the "sketch first" process. We hope you will discover that it's actually kind of liberating not to have to commit every detail of a drawing or painting to paper on the first try. It's perfectly all right to make a dozen trial cartoons, eleven of which you throw away, in order to get to that twelfth, just-right rendering. And even then, as you will see when you click on each image, the final version - whether inked or painted - may differ yet again!
These illustrations come from a variety of Elfquest projects. There are no hard and fast rules that dictate what sort of material to use, or what size to draw. Whatever gets the job done, to your own satisfaction, is the right way to go.
