Wendy's Elf Book

If you've ever been to a comic book convention, whatever its size, chances are you've seen something resembling an "artist's alley." This is a set-aside area, sometimes in the dealer's room, where comic book artists both well-known and hoping to be known can set up, chat with fans, and display and sell their artwork.

A long-time staple of the convention circuit is the "convention sketch." Most artists are happy to create a special drawing (sometimes for free, sometimes for a fee) for you as a memento of your visit to that convention. Often, artists will take requests; if your particular obsession is, say, bunny rabbits, you might ask the current "Superman" artist to turn the Man of Steel into a super-powered rabbit for your collection. It never hurts to ask!

Years back, we began such a souvenir sketch book and - as you might guess - asked the artists whose work we enjoyed to render an elf. Didn't matter in what context, in what style. Simply, draw an elf. The results, for the first time ever, are showcased here for your enjoyment. There are many others, and we'll be adding more of those from time to time.

A note before you begin: These drawings have been made as gifts for Wendy Pini, and we're happy to share them with all of you. View, chuckle, enjoy! But please, you must not use them for any other purpose, whether on your own or someone else's web site or personal stationery or computer wallpaper or anything else. Copyright considerations aside, both Wendy and the artists who drew these are letting you in to "visit" these personal expressions, and we ask that you respect that. Thank you.
