Dewshine, swift and graceful as a deer, is the most agile and free-spirited of the Wolfriders - and that takes some doing! She has a beautiful voice, full of melody and laughter. Song and dance are passions with her and she has a talent for mimicking birdsong. Dewshine came to Recognition early and unexpectedly, with the shapechanged Glider Tyldak. The child of that Recognition was Windkin. Her longtime lovemate, Scouter, adopted the cub as his own.
Centuries after the birth of her own cub, it was Dewshine who watched her lovemate find Recognition with Tyleet rather than her. However, Dewshine saw things differently than Scouter had so long ago: while the all-encompassing "knowing" within Recognition was what Scouter had tried for but could never reach with Dewshine, Dewshine did not feel like an outsider because of it; on the contrary, having tasted the joys of Recognition herself, she had nothing but happiness for Scouter and Tyleet, and therefore was easily accepted by them into what has become a strong and loving three-mating. Indeed, they voluntarily exchanged their soul names (very significant considering Dewshine's encounters with Winnowill), cementing the bond. She now trees with Scouter and Tyleet in Howling Rock Holt, helping to raise their son, Pool.
