New Blood # 1 "Out of the Woods"
Hunters return empty-handed for the third day. At night, Skywise and Cutter ride out. Nightrunner and Starjumper won't continue past their hunting territory. They find animals caged in a clearing. They enter a hut full of meat. An old troll wants to eat them but their wolves burst in. The cookpot falls and the hut burns. They set the animals free and head home.
New Blood # 7 "King of the Hill"
Skywise, Cutter, and Nightfall play at the bottom of a steep bank. Cutter challenges Skywise to climb up. The vine breaks. Cutter tries. He's smaller and able to reach the top. There he finds a stone hut with a human woman working inside. He runs around a well and the woman runs out. She gives him some food and he eats all of it. Her master will be mad. A tall human enters and starts hitting her. Cutter runs, chased by him. He starts climbing down, and so does the human. The vine breaks and he falls. The woman lowers Cutter down to Skywise and Nightfall with a rope.
New Blood # 10 "The Wishing Ring"
Skywise chases a rabbit into a dense forest. It jumps in a hole. The ground opens up and he finds himself in a cave full of treasure, armor, and weapons. A skeleton wearing a ring sits on a throne. He takes it and feels great power. He wishes a way out, food, and makes himself big. He wishes to fly and lands on a mountain. The ring speaks. In a far off place a magic user created the ring, and drained his magic, dying. His servant took the ring, and got wealth, fame, and power. He became tired of it and flew to many worlds. He came here and sat on his throne, ending his life. Power can't buy happiness. He wishes he never found it and returns to the holt.
