Hidden Years # 5 "Starfall, Starrise"
Two boys knock an animal from a tree. It gets up and walks away. It must be a demon. They take punishment but live. They consider themselves like Demontricker. They won't kill, only shame the demons. The animal dies under a bush. Shale gets food at the holt for Eyes High. Rain feels they need more recognitions and cubs. The boys see Eyes High in her nest. She's close to the stars for Skywise. Shale comes up. The boys throw rocks and Shale falls to the ground. Eyes High goes down to him. Humans, after the boys, find them. Shale and the wolves are killed. Eyes High is taken. Shale is found. Bearclaw, Redmark, and Treestump watch the humans dance. Eyes High holds Skywise back. The boy Ehok says it's dishonorable. They take her on a raft, where she gives birth to Skywise. She sends to Bearclaw to watch the river, and lets her cub float away. She dies from losing too much blood.
