Hidden Years # 3 "Little Patch"
After the reappearance, Tyleet will tell the story of her human cub. She finds him left in the rain. She leaves it for the humans to find but it's tied to a tree in the morning. She takes him to the Holt and names him Little Patch for the mark over his eye. As he grows up he's taught woodlore and archery. Soon his scent is like theirs. He's taught hunting and different bird-calls. Soon he grows fast and becomes awkward. He has strange stirrings. Aroree was once 'curious' with the humans in Blue Mountain so goes off with Patch. But elves' bloodsong is pitched too high for humans. He runs. The humans won't let him in because of his markings. He keeps bringing kills to the humans until he's let in, outhunting anyone. He falls in love with a girl andgoes through rituals to become one of them. Tyleet watches over the years as he becomes chief. When he's old he lives in his memories. He runs off and reaches the thorn barrier, leading others there. Tyleet whistles and he stops. The humans leave him for wolves. Tyleet comes to him as he dies. He lived a good life.
