Ahdri

Hmmm. Maybe they weren't sure about it the first time- thinking it was just a hunch?

The wounded and deeply sleeping Ahdri's spirit certainly expanded into the living rock surrounding and protecting what was once the Sun Village. I suspect Windkin sensed that and, from his POV, called that death. Not every elf is as psychically gifted as, say, Savah or Sunstream.

I quite disagree with her when it comes to Windkin's gifts. It may be that Windkin isn't as "gifted" as Savah or Sunstream, yet I still think that he is capable enough to feel if she is dead or not.

It seems they looked at New Blood and decided to say to themselves that when the Preserver said "Aw" it was because she collapsed, and being stillquiet it wrapped her up before she died. And then they had to bring her back.

Banner is a collab of sorts between Embala and me. The quote belongs to Scooter.

Thanks to Embala for the avatar and the banners. You're the best. Smile

I just look at it as the same case as what happened to One-Eye. He was just on the cusp of leaving his body forever (and wanting to leave). To the point that Clearbrook thought he was dead when she sent to him. But wrapstuff kept the tenuous connection intact. Ahdri's full elf spirit wanted to return to her body, but One-Eye's wolfy spirit wanted to be free.

The story of Ahdri made me wonder how much age, wear and stress Preserver webbing can endure.

Time for the Trolls to take over!

With this logic, Wolfriders would be fragile as a castle of cards and pure-blooded elves robust as cast iron...

I don't see where your argument follows...at all. As my post had nothing whatsoever to do with 'fragility' or 'robustness', but was referring to Timmain's statement that Wolfrider spirits can go where they will after death and aren't tethered to a) the Palace or b) another body (Rayek and the dead Gliders; Rayek and Winnowill) like full elves. As Ahdri wasn't 100% dead when she went into wrapstuff, her spirit was still tethered to her body and she could reclaim it (instead of going to the Palace). As One-Eye's spirit held its bonds to Abode, he was strong enough to flee his body even though Leetah put 110% of her effort into holding him there.

I always had the impression, that full elves stick somewhat less to their bodies than down-to-earth wolfriders.
The first-comers didn't really want to be there and apathicly waited for their death (at least, that's what I get from the compendium...).
Wolfriders and Timmain (well, the early Timmain) are the "touch-y elves", while the others are more like spirits.

What I wanted to say was: "if a wolfrider spirit really wants to be free, then it should take the slightest chance to get it ("...uuh, a scratch..."), while full elves should cling as long as possible to their bodies".

Interesting idea. I'd guess, physically, the webbing is a little less resiliant than the Preservers themselves, as it can be cut or damaged by a strong outside force. What I think it really does is create a stasis time field, and that field can be disrupted or collapse if too many of the strands are damaged. So, it protects what's inside from the ravages of time, but not necessarily from direct physical damage. Say like if a large rock fell on you in wrapstuff, you'd probably still be crushed, but if the field didn't collapse, your corpse wouldn't decay. I suppose it's also waterproof, as Sela and Malak spent years wrapped up in the forest but didn't look overly mussed. :D
