Battlestar Gallactica and FQ

Is anyone a fan of the SciFi Channel's Battlestar Gallactica series? I've recently started watching it and I love it. Yesterday I was thinking about what I like about it and it dawned on me that it has a similar "feel" to EQ's future stories (I think moreso the Rebels series than Jink maybe). And even though there's not obvious character counterparts or similar storylines, there is just a similar level of character-driven plot, future setting, heart, suspense, action and hope in both.

Anyone else have any thoughts?

First off, I was an origional BG fan from the get go in the 80s. I never really looked at parrallels between stories, but I see what you mean. The old origional one felt even more like rebels.

Other thoughts... At first I wasnt sure I liked the new battlestar galactica, what with all the plot pojnts changed and main characters having gender changes... But i do enjoy it now. As far as Starbuck in particular, its a mixed feel... The actress playing Starbuck pulled it off, but I miss that 80s stereotype male starbuck too...
