A note about "More News"

If you've arrived at the "Thunder and Skyfire" topic via the link on the www.elfquest.com home page, you'll note that the pickings (so far) are slim. That's because we lost all the posts that people made, from the announcement on July 9, 2008, of Warner Bros. picking up the option on Elfquest all the way to last Wednesday, February 4, 2009. We're doing what we can to recreate links to news items and such, and hope the rollicking discussions about who should do voices, whether the movie should be 2-D or 3-D, and all the rest, will get back into high gear.

Here are a couple of links to news sites that carried the announcement:

At long last, today I tackled a project I've been putting off (it seems) forever. And that is, gathering up every news item and posting I could find, wherever they might lurk on the Elfquest.com site, and putting them all into chronological order on one page.

Why?

Because people have been asking (begging, pleading, hounding) for news about the EQ movie project ever since we first announced its first incarnation in 1981. Now, with the option at Warner Bros. and the development further than it's ever been, I realized that many people <b:2258127d49>still</b:2258127d49> aren't nearly aware of the long path the elves have been on, getting to the big screen. All the puzzle pieces of information have been on the Elfquest site, but some have been in "news", some in "editorials," and others scattered who knows where.

Now they are all in one place, from oldest to newest. Which also makes it easy to update the one page whenever we <b:2258127d49>do</b:2258127d49> have something to add!

The reformatted page is here:
http://www.elfquest.com/news/Movie3.html
and is also accessible from the home page by simply clicking on the "EQ Got Movie!" image top and center.

Glad to get the post, Elfpop!
Odd coincidence, but last night I was thumbing through my much-worn novelized edition of "Journey to Sorrow's End" (it's been kinda helping me through a recent rough patch) and read in the book's Forward about how much you and Elfmom were planning and hoping even then (1982) to bring Elfquest to the big screen.
I know it's been a long road for you both, but I'm glad that this time it REALLY feels like it's going to happen. Just glad to be gettin' the news as it rolls in, so thank you for that.
Oh, I've also read up on Rawson Thurber and personally... I'm not scared :) He seems like a good fella to be handling this.
Good vibes, all round!

To all:

I just posted an addition to the Moviequest page, dated July 14:

http://www.veoh.com/search/videos/q/elfquest#watch%3Dv1 8763544x4fp3XWh

It'll give you a link to the full nearly-hour-long video of last year's Elfquest panel presentation at San Diego Comic-Con. This is where we announced, in person for the first time, the news that EQ had been optioned by Warner Bros. to be developed into a movie. It's a lot of fun; enjoy!

Just a few minutes ago, I got an email from Rawson Thurber, that consists of only one word:

Surprised

Does that really mean... ? No. I don't dare to dream about that. I could wake up. Better not.
