The lodestone

Auntie Ges must be a real busy-body! :D And it's really strange that the elves have lost so many of their most beloved items...

I think Skywise left it with someone dead... and the dead one is Yun.

I'm afraid it rather will be a (loooong) postponed death...

But one thing about Ges having all these items: If she has gathered them all herself, wouldn't that imply that most of them were left together? I mean, she might have been looking for her entire life, but to have so many of them... I'd say chances are she's found most of them in the same place. In that case, I wonder what place this is? And if the elves left them behind on purpose, maybe it was a part of some kind of ceremony, you know, where they were all supposed to leave it.

Maybe Cutter gave New Moon to Ember...
Skywise gave the Lodestone to Yun...
Tyleet gave her necklace to Pool, or remained behind herself...

...and they are all dead...

I think the symbol of the joined hands is not Geoki's original one... that leather would have rotted by now...

it must have been a symbol frequently used by the Hoan-G'Tay-Sho, so there would be lots of copies, as common as any flag of our world...

I don't really know if this has anything to do with it, but it could be...

Chandra Davenkee... Chandra means Moon in some strange language, Sanskrit i think. It also means demon in Hindu legends. Now, there use to be a meaning of character's name, at least for the bigger part of characters... so can she possibly in any way be realted to the elves?? She reminds a little of Cutter... No, she's the daughter of Sunstream and Brill.. take that theory!
Personaly i think Jink might be the child of Skywise and some daughter of Timmain. I just don't like the thought of Skywise/Timmain, talk about overage! Grin
"Don't take life too seriously -- you'll never get out of it alive."

You know, I've always had my suspicions about Chandra, myself. Some of the things people have said on this thread are well taken, about humans being more magical in general by this time, but there was always something about Chandra that suggested elfin heritage to me. But if she does have it, my guess is that she's Jink's daughter. After all, I couldn't see her being FULLY elf, and we all know that Jink does regularly join with humans. It's easy enough to believe that she could have had a baby, shaped it to look fully human, and left it with its father or another human family with no information on its heritage, then wiped the memory. And as like any good elf, she doesn't age, this would have been pretty easy to do and still have the timeline make sense.
I think I read somewhere that someone (Richard Pini?) swore that there would never ever be an elf/human hybrid in Elfquest.

It might not have been a traumatic experience for him at all to lose/give away the lodestone, if he felt that he didn't need it as much as he used to, because now he was in the palace, traveling amongst the stars anyway?

I tend to think so. He just didn't need it anymore; after he trained as master of the palace, the stars belonged to him and that stone became just a pebble to him. Who knows, maybe he gifted a kind Shuna-like human with it, and, since our lives and memory are short, it got lost for a long time.

and for the love of god i hope they won't deviate from it...

perhaps she is just an elf who forgot she was one, while still in human shape..
