Funny thing is...in the Recognition special, they then turn around and say the Way includes saving human cubs from Angrif Djun, which is how that war gets started.

More likely, New Moon's longevity is mostly due to Two Edge being the 'Master Smith', and forging swords that simply don't break. I've never seen anything else made by him break either.
