So I'm going to do something I hope I won't regret.

I'm giving Arrowfall's Tribe to my fellow fans on the Scroll.

For those who might not know the story, I created a tribe of Wolfriders for a fan-story some time ago centered around a character named Sunspark. Hers was an incredibly tragic story of unfulfilled Recognition and the redemptive power of a second chance.

All I ask is that the characters are treated with respect. Sunspark is not going to be suddenly going all happy-happy joy-joy dancing around like a teeny-bopper Valley Girl.

This is what I've got. Most of this is approximate and up to adaptation as necessary.

Sunspark's tribe

Chieftess Arrowfall: Archer, female (500 turns)
Average, level brown eyes with thin lips and a straight nose
Medium Long red-brown hair hanging loose and straight
Short tunic or dress with knee boots in russet colors

Greyrock: male Chief's lovemate (300 turns)

Average, slanted amber eyes with a wide mouth and a straight nose

Pants with a tucked shirt and moccasins in golds and reds

Sunspark: Huntress, female Winterleaf's mother (550 turns)

I hope that someone will be able to take these characters and give them the life they deserve. I'll still be using Sunspark as my primary "avatar" for the Elfquest Dollers Association, but I would love to see the stories of her tribe, using her or not using her as the tales require.

In the hours before dawn, Whisper jumped from branch to branch high above the forest floor. she could faintly hear the footsteps of her mother, Swiftshadow, and her father, Trueblade, just up ahead on the ground. at long last, her father Sent her the thought she had been waiting for since the previous day: **we've caught up**

a smile spread across Whisper's face. she loved hunting. she enjoyed the tracking. the anticipation of danger. the determination to survive. the satisfaction of success. it was all intoxicating.

She slowed to a halt as she reached her family's position. they were waiting at the edge of a clearing, hidden behind separate trees. in the clearing was their prey: a bear of immense size. **you both know what to do** Trueblade Sent, glancing at her and her Swiftshadow. her mother nodded, then began silently circling around to the other side of the bear. Whisper acknowledged in kind and pulled out her prized bow. she selected an arrow from the quiver on her back, nocking it and drawing it back to her cheek. she aimed towards the behemoth and waited.

she watched in her peripherals as her father crept up behind the bear. **NOW** he Sent.

Whisper loosed her arrow at the bear, watching as it lodged into one of its shaggy shoulders. it reared up on its hind legs, roaring. then her mother and father rushed in, ramming their knives into the chest and back. Whisper exhaled deeply. another hunt well done.

but the bear didn't drop. to the contrary, it was now enraged. it swiped at Swiftshadow and Trueblade, mortally wounding the former while the latter leapt back. she fell to the ground and lay there without moving.

Whisper was stunned. **mother, get up!** she sent. there was no response. **MOTHER PLEASE!!!** again, nothing. her feelings of victory were quickly replaced with ones she'd never felt before. those of fear.

meanwhile, her father roared in anger, launching himself at the beast that had slain his mate. he stabbed at every inch of the bear he could reach. in response the bear swatted him with tremendous force, sending him flying through the air to slam into Whisper's tree.

Whisper quickly climbed down to her broken father and pulled him up onto her lap. he was barely even conscious, coughing and shaking. "W-Whisper..." he groaned.

"I'm right here!" she said pleadingly. "Stay with me!"

"NO... run... save......" he fell silent and stopped moving. tears began streaming down her face as gut wrenching sobs shook her entire body. she was all alone now. it had always been just the three of them. and now they were gone.

the roar of the bear jerked her back to the current situation. she stood up unsteadily, only one thought in her mind: kill the bear or die trying. at this point, she didn't care which.

she began loosing arrow after arrow at the beast. these did nothing to stop it as it lumbered towards her. when she ran out of arrows, she picked up her father's knife and ran towards the bear, howling with despair.

Whisper didn't feel the pain. she hadn't felt the impact. she hadn't even seen the bear swipe at her. she dropped to her knees, clutching her throat. she was going to die. she was sure of it. she fell to her side, facing the bear. as her vision began to fade, she watched as the bear approached her. the last thing she saw was a blur pass over her and collide with the bear, and then nothing...

Once more, it's time for the forum's Secret Santa Exchange!

Please comment here if you'd like to be someone's Secret Santa (and get a gift yourself!), as well as what you're willing to give (stories, poetry, drawings, collages, dolls, etc.) and what deadline you think we should have.

Deadlines
- You can sign up until the 1st of December.
- You get your assignment on the 2nd of December.
- Your gift should be finished and given to your recipient on the 6th of January.

What do we do?
1. Reply to this thread so I can put you on the list of participants and tell us what kind of gifts you can offer and which you prefer to offer (example: you can draw, but you think you're better at writing stories).
2. Send a PM to Sofia, where you in as much detail as possible describe what kind of gift you want (remember to wish for every type of gift to make matching easier) as well as what you don't want. The same goes for the offer - more details about what you like to draw/write/make etc. and what you'd rather not.
3. Wait for you assignment - I'll PM it to you on the ???.
4. Make your gift and send it to your recipient on the ???. You of course also get your own gift :D
5. Post your gift (i.e. the thing you got not the one you made, unless the two of you agree on something else) in the Secret Santa Gift Thread (link later) for everyone to enjoy!

Offers:
I prefer writing stories/drawing/making dolls/writing poems/etc. The characters that interest me the most are Aurek, Pike, Shenshen and Lord Voll. I'd rather not make a gift involving Rayek or Leetah. I like adventure-plots/like drawing faces/like making many dolls at the same time/writing poems without rhyme etc. but would rather not write something romantical/draw backgrounds/write poems about something sad/etc.

My gift requests are:
1. Collage: Shenshen, centered around her smiling. Other characters are fine to be included, as long as she's the main focus.
1. Drawing: Would love something with Shenshen and Pike together. Preferrably something post-Shard Wars with them near Howling Rock, enjoying the view and sharing some dreamberries.
2. Story: A young Lord Voll-story would be interesting! Maybe even have it cover his entire life with short glimpses of each stage until his death.
3. Poem: Would really like a poem written from Pike's point of view. Maybe something he himself would howl at a celebration. Preferrably a funny one, staring his current tribemates doing something silly.
4. Chibis: Aurek, Pike, Shenshen and Lord Voll all tiny and lost in the forest. Bonus points if Aurek and Voll try and help the others by floating them over obstacles, but it's not going too well :D
5. Dolls: Aurek, Pike, Shenshen and Lord Voll all dressed up!

(The two "1." means that the recipient wants these two types of gifts equally much - i.e. you could write "1" in front of all your requests. Also you don't have to request just one kind of picture - give your Santa as many options as you like!
