Pike

Hello everyone,

I am thinking of trying to write a fanfic of Pike, and need a little info (because I have unfortunately not read everything in the Elfquest universe). Please forgive me if this is not the correct place to post this, or if there is already a thread started about this subject.

OK, so I am pretty sure that his mother is not known? His father is Rain (of course), but we don't know Pike's soulname, right? Also, when was he born.... meaning was he born roughly around the same time as Redlance? :roll: Sorry if this sounds dumb, but an inquiring mind wants to know! Any help would be lovely, thanks!

There's some info on this page, or more confirming lack of info or unrevealed info in most cases :)

here's all that is known exept his age... I know both he and Redlance were quite mature when Skywise was born, and that he was the eldest in Ember's tribe after Reunion. (but since the tribe consisted of him, Ember, Mender, Teir, Krim, Scouter, Dewshine, Tyleet, Pool and Sust - hope I didn't forget anyone - that's not much knowledge.)

Someone with the Big Gatherum at hand could answer that age question.

It might be mentioned that the EQ site is not quite updated, it doesn't mention Sust, Pike's possible son.

Does anybody else out there love Pike too? Here is my list:

Reasons to Love Pike:
1. He makes dreamberry wine. Enough said.

2. He's suprisingly sensitive... for example, giving ShenShen flowers to cheer her up (book 2), when after finding Mekda in the snow, he said "They're careless with thier tools, these trolls", and the look on his face could have melted away the snow with his sadness (book 4). All this and more from an elf that has been called "squirrel cheeks"!

3. He's not afraid to show deep emotion... He was one of the first elves on the scene after Crescent's death, with Bearclaw and Strongbow, and he's crying up a storm. Also, his whole relationship with Vaya: short but so sweet. One of my favorites in the whole of Elfquest.

4. He knows who he is... ok, he knows his is not from recognition, has no magic powers, and he has never had a problem with it (even growing up with the wolfriders, who are all gorgeous, talented, etc.) Pike found his talents himself, and is very happy with his calling in life. If only I could be more like that!

5. He is a storyteller... and has the ability to tap into tales about his people through just blood memory alone. How cool is that?

6. He's a fearless, talented fighter and hunter. Grrrrrr...

7. And last but not least.... He's very funny. A guy that can make me laugh is the guy who gets my heart.

seriously, he is the first Elf in the whole saga to demonstrate a gay (bi) relationship. Kudos for it boy!

The things I find most endearing about Pike are his unselfconsciousness and his humility.

I mean, the guy's mind is never on himself. Always on others. Astonishing, endearing and admirable.

And he's been through so many things, so many losses! And always keep a joyfull mood! I admire him for that...

I'm sorry, at this point I have to speak up.
What is up with the hatred for Go Back women? Every time they comes up, it seems to me, someone has to bash them. Is it a thinking that women should all wear skimpy outifits and display the outlandishly "balanced" psyches we see among Wolfrider chicks all the time? Krim and Kahvi are so derided here. Personally, I think the Go Backs are awesome, and that Krim rocks. You can tell she loves her lifemate. She just doesn't stick to the roles played bby women in our society. So what?
As far as I saw, Pike loved, and continues to love both his lifemates equally. And that is what I love about him.
That, plus he is so the Magician.
My favourite Pike moment is right after Zhantee saved Skot and Krim.
It's so sweet.

Actually, I don't have anything against women in general, or Go-back women in particular, and I really really don't think anyone (be she/he female or male) should "stick to the roles (we are said we have to play) in our society" and I am strongly against sexist regression.

If Vaya had survived the Palace war and Pike, Vaya and Skot had lifemated, I would be more than happy.

Some hates Rayek, some venerates Skywise. I don't like Krim, I don't like her hair, I don't like her face, I don't like her behavior, I don't like the way she idolateres Kahvi (not because it is Kahvi, but because noone should be idolater), and it has nothing to do with her origins.

i agree with all the reasons. I love Pike! He's so sweet! And he seems less perfect than the other elves which adds to his loveableness. Pike's a doll!

Pike gets my love too. He's such a big softie. :D
