Conversion in different systems

Here are two usefull links to understand eachother better:

a size / distance / surface converter
http://www.rivieraproperty.net/metriquefr.html

a temperature F°/C° converter
http://speleoclpa.free.fr/convertiseur/convertisseur.ht m

both very easy to use.

For other units, http://www.onlineconversion.com/ is good too
Clever...

And for those who use mIRC, you can paste this into the Aliases tab of the mIRC Scripts Editor Window (press alt + a after having opened the program and click the Aliases window) :)

/c /echo -a $calc( $1 * 9/5+32 ) F
/f /echo -a $calc( ($1 -32) * 5/9 ) C

/cm /echo *** $$1 $+ cm is $calc( $$1 / 2.54 ) $+ in
/in /echo *** $$1 $+ in is $calc( $$1 * 2.54 ) $+ cm

Then, to convert C to F, all you have to do is type for instance"/C 22" and press enter to get.. "71.6 F" and vice versa.

And.. to convert inches to cm.. type for instance"/in 4" and you press enter and get.. "10.16cm" and vice versa.

I usually type this into my status window when I do conversions, less confusing that way so chats don't suddently have weird number notations to me.

Arthis, any luck of finding a decent "cookbook" converter? (Like fl.oz or whatever it's called to dl and cl and so on?)

I tried to find one but came out short...

I know what you mean, it's a problem for me too! :?

I'll let you know what I've found

edit: this one is not an automatical converter, but it gives you some equivalences: http://www.tostepharmd.net/pharm/clinical/measurement.h tml

edit2: I've found a good one for fluide ounce (fl. oz.): http://www.metric-conversions.org/volume/uk-ounce-conve rsion.htm
and if you click on the icons around, you will find converters for other units too...
Here's Magelas explanation for me about the rating system in the US, I keep forgetting these things so I find it useful :)

Google, in its quest to obtain a monopoly on the entire planet, has introduced a calculator and converter to its search engine. Just type in an expression like 4.3 light years in miles or 70 fahrenheit in kelvin or even 3.6 kilometres in furlongs and view the result instantly....

Or "answer to life, the universe and everything miles in lightyears"... silly google.
Of course, if you enter "answer to life, the universe and everything" on its own, you get living proof that programming nerds are trying to develop a sense of humour.

Grin Yeah but if you go hang out in a gaming store for a while, you'll see that majority of them still have a ways to go. 8) (no offense to programmers, gamers or representatives from the Fox network)

I'm too busy programming to hang out in gaming stores. Now I can't decide who of you has offended me more.
Grin *hugs Nowth* Well obviously I think you've got a great sense of humor.
