Who do you see - or rather, hear - voicing the various characters? And why?

Still pulling for David Bowie if Voll is going to be a part of the cast, and if it doesn't cost half the casting budget.
Rhea Perlman for Oddbit.

I still think it should have been an anime. *pout* Ishino Ryuuzou for Cutter, Tsuru Hiromi for Kahvi… Maybe Touma Yumi for Winnowill…

Well, they can still do the voices. Just for the Japanese dub.

I think if Tam was singing he'd sound like this:

You just gotta shut your eyes and think about him....
It's John Farnham in 'You're the Voice'.

I think John Malkovich should be in there somewhere. I just love his voice. Perhaps as Voll? I dunno!
Summer Glau has that etheral voice type but seriosly Richard you don't have to have name actors do voiceovers. Celebs can be EXPENSIVE! Look at Star Wars bunch of fresh faces there and i wouldnt want the budget to kill a movie that i would love to see before i die
Oh it's so sad that the old thread is gone.
Anyway I will certainly reprise my post:
Ellen McLain, who voiced GLaDOS in Portal, and many other female voices in the Half Life universe games - as Winnowill.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=648DRxIfgx4
Just her normal speaking voice is very sultry, kinda husky, and she's obviously got a grasp on certain bits of acting more so than just anyone that could have been pulled for the job of a maniacal computer mastermind.
At 3:21, she gives off the most evil laugh a normal sane person could, and I love her even more. :)

Visit the Otherforest, get made into an elf! Ask me how!
I would really love to have Whoopi Goldberg as Savah. She has this voice that can be so warm and caring, as seen in Star Trek: TNG when she plays Guinan. She also has a good deal of humor.
Cutter would need an energetic voice. Something that is both young, since he's NOT that old, but mature ... like Hayden Christensen. He has such a beautiful range of emotion.
I see the gliders as having British accents. Maybe Alan Rickman as Lord Voll ... he has SUCH a great voice. I once heard a recording of him reading a sonnet and I swear my spine practically melted.
I think Hugh Jackman would be perfect for Stronbow's "voice" (since he normally sends) When he plays Wolverine it's SO perfect.
That's all I can think of now.

[i:e0e64e671a]"And we can TALK to elf spirits in the palace, can't we? WELL?" Cutter looked to Leetah who looked to Moonshade and Dart who looked to Strongbow who said "The palace of the High Ones." Everyone else thought "DOH!!"[/i:e0e64e671a]
I think you have some good ideas Tenshi. Whoopi Goldberg [i:1e1bb50420]would[/i:1e1bb50420] be good, so long as it was not straight away obvious who it was.
Maybe someone who has that deep sort of huskiness of hers- but isn't actually her! I'm sure all these famous people we are mentioning would cost $$$$$

Cutter's voice shouldn't be too deep, I hear him as a tenor. Leetah is a smokey alto, but not as smokey or low as Winnowill. Shen Shen has a higher voice in my mind, and so does Dewshine. Treestump and Strongbow ('s thoughts) are low, but Strongbow is grittier than Treestump.
How about Lee Pace as Cutter, or Nathan Fillion? It's been suggested already, but I could hear John Malkovich or David Bowie as Lord Voll. Susan Egan might make a good Nightfall, or even Leetah.

I still say Sonny Strait as Skywise (oh yes, it's me, from ComiCon and Gallifrey One).
I also vote John Rhys-Davies for Treestump. it's the beard.
and what about Freema Agyeman for Kahvi? sure, I imagine her voice to be a bit rougher, but the pitch and tone matches with what I imagine...
...I'm terrible with names. I have so many voices for the other characters, but I can't think of the names (or even the movies) to go with them D:

I see Julian Cheung (Asian actor) for One Eye. Not sure why though, I just see him whenever I see any pictures of One Eye. Then all I can think of for Ember (as a child) is a friend of mine named Lauren, and her younger brother Peter for Suntop.
Leetah, well, there are five different actresses I can think of and only one of them fit the part well and better then not.
Best call Cate Blanchette (Galadriel from LOTR) she loves pointed ears! she could be Timmian I think....

Oh, please, for the love of Keerama, no. Have you ever SEEN any dubbed DragonBall? Sonny Strait is NOT good at voice-acting. I'm sorry to be so blunt, but if he's cast as ANYONE in the Elfquest movie, it would ruin the whole thing.
I've actually done some acting, though, and I DO have skill. Could I be Kahvi…? Well, OK, maybe my voice isn't husky enough. Vaya? Or maybe some random Glider chick… How would I go about auditioning? >_>
And I STILL think it should have been an anime series, not an American movie. *huff* Maybe there can still be an anime someday…?

If the Elfquest movie is animated I think professional voice actors (as opposed to live action actors or unknowns) should be used. Its one thing to act using their body expressions and gestures, and another using only their voice to act.
