Greetings everyone!
Ever since Richard posted the storyboards of the two older versions of the EQ movie (Wolfrider! from 1994 & 1995) a couple months ago, I've had an overwhelming desire to see them cut together in sequential form as a story reel/animatic. I got the go-ahead from Richard & Wendy, and then promptly got too busy. Ironically, now that the holidays are upon us, I'm finally finding the time to begin working.
But I need your help!
Story reels exist as a way for the moviemakers to see how the film is working as a whole, before massive amounts of time and energy are put into the actual animation process. This allows them to check if the story arcs are working, make broad changes in pacing, and cut what's not working. Usually there is a scratch track of the voice acting & sfx, and temp music to set the mood of each scene. I'd love it if we could get this rough cut as polished as possible.
This is where YOU come in! I need voices! I need music! I need sound effects! If you have a way of recording your voice and think it might fit what one of the characters sounds like, I need you! If you have time to go through public domain music sources and find pieces that fit each sequence, I need you! If you're handy with a mic and can record sound effects, I need you!
Check back here shortly for more details, as my first task is to do a dialogue breakdown of all the lines each character says. I'm hoping to post a sample of each "audition" and then open it up to the forum & FB and have everyone vote on who they think sounds most like the character. Maybe Wendy & Richard will even chime in. And who knows, if your voice acting is really superb, perhaps Warner Bros will take notice. And while we're in wishful thinking mode, maybe this story reel will help in some way to get the real movie made!!
It's long been my dream to work on the Elfquest Movie, and this project would be one way for me to fulfill that dream. I can't even express how exited I am to actually have a reason to stare at Wendy's artwork for hours on end! Sounds interesting - could be a nice way to shoten the wait ... and to be creative. Sadly I don't have any of the required talents ore equipement, so no help to expect from my side

I have a cheap headphone set with a microphone. Might be able to record my voice, and even sound effects. BTW my Troll friends want to record Troll sound effects, but they aren't the kind fit for this projct.
Time for the Trolls to take over!
