I'm looking at doing a Nightfall cosplay at a Convention next year, but I have no idea where to begin! I don't even know which of her outfits to make, let alone where to find the ears, how to disguise my five fingers as four, etc.
Any help or comments would be appreciated. Also, I would love to know the most popular of her outfits.

I will always remember Nightfall as she was in the beginning .. with the hiphuggers/capris and boots, half-shirt and headscarf. I'd say that's also the most recognizable of them.
I'm sure you can find prosthetic ears online, and I wouldn't even try to make a four-fingered hand. Just go au natural with the hands, I would suppose. People will get the point if you do the rest of it right.
Good luck!

My earlier advice on this subject was fleece and knit garmets, cut and layered. If you recycle old garments or sewing scraps, you wan't feel so pressured not to make mistakes with the material.
For example, if you wanted to make an orange-and-green top for Nightfall, you could layer a solid orange T-shirt over a solid green T-shirt. Hand-stitch or glue the two layers together where the orange areas will appear. Cut away the orange layers to reveal the green areas. Cut away completely the areas of bare skin.
(My husband and I did something like this years ago, for a "Zorro" movie. We wore white T-shirts, over which we wore black -shirts with the letter "Z" slashed into the front.)
I don't recommend real leather, suede or chamois. A garment made from pieces of cast-off fleece sweatshirts, jogging pants, stockings and knit T-shirts is easier to make, lighter and cooler. If you want fur details, you can find pieces of fake fur at a fabric store, or salvage old garments, bath mats or bedroom slippers.
There are different versions of Nightfall's scarves, but either one can be made from a solid green bandana. A square of woven material is easy to hem, but you can also turn up the edges and tack or glue them. Fleece is easier, because it does't have to be hemmed.
For shoes, boots or slippers, I recommend starting with old and comfortable footwear, then covering the pair with material to match the costume.
As with all garments, have a matching piece of outerwear in case you catch a draft, and always allow for toilet access!
