The fading memories I have from watching a very early Dr. Who series (in fact just single episodes) evoke pictures of a somewhat crazy story and damsells in distress. Having someone like Jink to drive the Doctor crazy seems to be fun. XD
I'm a huge Doctor Who fan, but I dont' know Jink comics yet. As far as I know that seems the likeliest choice. The Doctor is not a great wine lover I think.

I dont remember that being very much shown in those series to be honest, but maybe it gets muddled in the different values of the time that you stop taking it into account. I've watched every single episode apart from 7. There is one episode where 10 is pretending to be drunk too.
